House in Dunlaoghaire
The rear north-east facing kitchen / dining room was enlarged to provide a much closer relationship with the facing garden. Sunlight disappears around to the front of the house by noon, and so afternoon and evening sun was introduced with a high level window/roof-light. The ‘shop-window’ glazing system achieved high thermal insulation, a very large end window and flexibility in the layout of the framing.
